New Project – Pictures from my new project “In Praise Of Shadows” are now posted in the gallery by the same name. The project is inspired by the work of novelist Junichiro Tanizaki, and reflects on the sense of place, the familiar, and the transformative and poetic aesthetics of darkness and shadows. The project is still under way, and has been shot in the neighborhood where I live during the summer and fall months of 2009.
As for most of my work, prints are available in a small size signed edition.

Arte Moderna e Contemporanea nelle Dimore Storiche, Group Show, (Sep 25–26, 2009), Villa Betteloni, San Pietro in Cariano, Verona, Italy. The exhibition will feature some of my recent artwork.
Exhibition of modern artwork by Igino Legnaghi e Donata Lazzarini, with additional sculptures by Valerio Anceschi, Manuela Bedeschi, Chiara Boniardi, paintings by Carlo Ciussi, Giorgio Olivieri, Romano Perusini, Rolando Tessadri, and photographs by Giancarlo Mori, from the Villa’s permanent art collection.
The exhibit is part of a nation-wide initiative organized by the ADSI (Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane) that, spanning across Italy, will bring the art of contemporary Italian artists inside some historical houses and mansions across the country.

Sylvia White 2009 National Juried Competition, Group Show, Sylvia White Gallery (Aug 19 – Sep 12, 2009), Ventura, CA – The group show for the 2009 National Juried Exhibition Group Show at the Sylvia White Gallery will display some of my recent work.

On the Surface, Camerawork Gallery at the Laundry (Jul 3 – Sep 1, 2009), Scranton, PA (with Bernd Reinhardt) – The photographs in this exhibition are keenly concerned with “place” and “time” and offer an opportunity to reflect on how the modern world can be seen through the lens of a camera, revealing how individual sensibilities and artistic point of view can create very different personal interpretations of contemporary reality.

Ersatz Group Exhibition, SF Camerawork (Jun 4 – Aug 22, 2009), San Francisco – In recognition of the gallery’s 35th anniversary and the launch of their new website, SF Camerawork has organized Ersatz Group Exhibition, which uses the aesthetics of the postal service as means for an exhibition of artwork created by mail.
